Our Games Team
Everybody in our Games team is first and foremost, a Game Maker and you will be no different. You will be working in small teams to rapidly design, prototype and iterate game ideas from yourself and the team, so although a master of your own discipline, you will still have a huge voice when it comes to concepting and designing Games at Bandai Namco Mobile. Due to this, it is imperative that you bring a deep understanding of the Mobile F2P Gaming Market.
Principal Backend Developer
We are searching for a hands-on Backend Developer to play a pivotal role in crafting new mobile game experiences here in Barcelona, from the prototype stage to global release and live ops.
As a Backend Developer at Bandai Namco Mobile, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the backend infrastructure that powers our games. You will ensure the performance, scalability, and reliability of our game services and contribute to creating seamless gameplay experiences for our players.
Most of our developers are generalists, so you will have the opportunity to work across multiple areas of development, including server-side logic, database management, cloud infrastructure, and game services. You will have the autonomy to decide how you can make the biggest impact on our games. Additionally, you should be willing to get involved in front-end service client development to support the full-stack needs of our projects.
Requirement
- 8+ years of experience as a Backend Developer, preferably in video games
- Passion for making and playing games across different genres
- Experience with rapid prototyping, iterative game development, and delivering full games
- Strong technical design and code skills, preferably in languages suitable for backend development (e.g., Go, C#, Java)
- Extensive experience in different areas of backend development with a focus on server-side logic, complemented by other areas such as multiplayer networking, database management, cloud services, and APIs
- A proactive and productive, self-management approach to backend development
Bonus
- Exposure to Unity game development
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud)
- Experience with store publishing in Google Play Store and Apple App Store
- Shipped successful games in Senior roles
- Participation in game jams and personal projects
